Welcome to Protein Research Laboratories, Inc. PRL is a small biotechnology company located in Seattle, Washington. We provide consulting and research services for protein engineering, epitope tagging, mutagenesis, purification, crystallization, and structure prediction:

EPITOPE TAGGING. PRL's Research Director, Thomas Hopp, invented the first epitope tag, the FLAG, which is used in laboratories worldwide for rapid protein detection, manipulation and purification. Occasionally, difficulties arise with epitope tagging methods and we here at PRL have solved many problems. We can help your project succeed, too.

HYDROPHILICITY ANALYSIS. Hopp and Woods published the seminal papers in the field of protein hydropathic analysis. Dr. Hopp is available to help with interpretation of hydrophilicity, hydrophobicity or hydropathic plots for proteins. Many researchers are not aware of the full extent of protein structural information that can be mined from a single analysis plot, but PRL scientists are the originators and foremost experts on the subject.

PROTEIN ENGINEERING AND MUTAGENESIS. When properly applied, protein hydropathic analysis can be an important guide to achieving success in protein engineering studies. PRL's decades of experience in protein mutagenesis, recombinant expression, and purification provide uncommon insight into problems that arise in protein engineering work.

PROTEIN PURIFICATION. Proteins can present difficult purification problems, regardless of whether they are obtained from recombinant or natural sources. Decades of experience with a multitude of purification methods make consultation with PRL an excellent strategy for solving tough purification problems and advancing protein isolation and characterization studies.
